UNDER TWELVE SQUAD CELEBRATE WINNING THE NORTH DEVON YOUTH LEAGUE PLATE

2013-14 season and a plea for help
As we enter the final stages of another season our attention starts to turn to the next one and our plans for
each of our different age groups.
This is where we are looking for some help!
At the moment we expect the competition format of the different age groups to be as follows:
ï‚· U9 (next year U10) will be 7-a-side in a weekly league format (results possibly not recorded)
 U10 (next year U11) will be 9-a-side in a weekly league format (results recorded) – with offside
 U12 (next year U13) will be 9-a-side in a weekly league format (results recorded) – with offside
As you are aware, Stuart and I have been coaching the current U9 group on Friday evenings alongside
the U10 group. With the U10s playing 9-a-side next year we will be looking to add a few of the current
U9s to this squad (and are always on the lookout for new players as well) and still really want to try and ensure
everyone has the opportunity to play football.
So with the continued extra commitments involved in managing all teams’ matches next season, we are very
keen to hear from anyone (friends, family) who would be interested in helping to coach and manage the U9 (next
year U10) group next season.
This could be an ideal opportunity for a student/youngster who wants to get involved in coaching. We would
welcome all offers though!
The person/persons will
ï‚· Have full support from other club coaches particularly with coaching sessions (we will be implementing a
club training programme next season)
ï‚· Need to be reliable and fully committed
ï‚· Need to be CRB checked (funded by club) and over 16
ï‚· Be funded to take FA coaching courses
We hope you agree that for a club so newly established we are already receiving plaudits for the friendly, club-feel we
have created and the style of football all our groups are playing. We really want that to continue.
We also hope you agree that our new home ground of Sticklepath School has been fantastic. We will continue to use
this for matches and for training as much as possible next season. Longer term, we are still looking for our own ground
in the Fremington area and are working on that. It means we can now also potentially accommodate younger age
groups where there has been also been some interest.
If you (or someone you know) can help please let me know (details below). We are always available to talk, should you
wish to know more.
The current U9 group are showing lots of promise – we hope someone will be able to come forward to help them realise
that potential. If we do not find anyone, it could mean we are no longer able to run a separate U10 age group
next season.
Yours in football,
George Tossell, Chairman, Fremington Youth Football Club
