Fremington v Barnstaple Youth    U12 Cup

Fremington v Barnstaple Youth, 4th November 2012

Beechfield played host to the most exciting game probably in the history of the Under 12’s short existence! Having not really been awake for the whole of the first half the black and whites trailed to the visitors at half time by 3 goals to nil and looked likely to concede more in the second half.

However after an inspired half time team talk from the manager George Tossell the boys came out fighting and showed the battling spirit that they have built a reputation for. Goals from Jamie Toleman, Cameron Smelt and a Barnstaple Youth defensive/goalkeeper mix up which Bailey Harris managed to force over the line if it was not already over! This meant that the score at full time was 3-3 and a further 20 minutes of extra time could not break the deadlock so it was down to penalties which eventually went in Barnstaple Youths favour 4-2. The boys though should be very proud of their performance, especially after half time as both teams provided a thoroughly entertaining game for the many parents and spectators that had turned up to support on a wet and windy afternoon.

What a fantastic match. Well done lads!
