Fremington Youth Football Club is run by an army of volunteer parents and a dedicated group of FA qualified coaches with varying qualifications from FA Level 1 standard to FA Level 2. In addition each coach has achieved a specific Youth Module course giving them unique insights into how the children learn and develop as individuals through football, Each coach has attained a recognised level of First Aid training and attended a Safeguarding Children workshop.

The junior section takes pride in developing players and puts an emphasis on this. We will not compromise development and inclusion by adopting a “win at all costs” approach. However we accept that winning is part of the enjoyment of the game and so we will always endeavour to support our players by giving them the best opportunity possible to express their talents within a successful team environment.

The club is represented at junior level in the North Devon Football League during the 2015/16 season. There will be teams playing at Under 15, Under 13, Under 12, Under 11 and Under 9 level. Our aim is that the players in these teams will move through the age groups of the Youth league teams and we will be able to develop as a club with further age groups such as our new group of Under 7 & 8 year olds.

Award Winning Football Club!

We are still growing as a club and have a long way to go to reach the level we aspire too. However whilst we take this journey we are learning that a lot of people are here to support us in reaching that goal. It is to all of those people that the awards we received at the recent Devon FA Community awards ceremony are dedicated. Thank you.

We were presented two awards on the night;

Devon FA Chartered Standard Club of the Year 2014/15 & Regional Chartered Standard Club of the Year 2014/15

The first award was presented to the club that the Devon FA believed best suited the following criteria:

  • The retention and/or growth of teams from season 2012-13 to 2013-14

  • Provide coaching and playing opportunities for those not involvedin the affiliated teams

  • Raising standards throughout the club including the delivery of The FA Respect programme

  • Innovative ways in which the club has looked to develop the standards of its players including the education of its workforce

  • Recruits, retains and rewards its volunteers

  • Has an effective management structure with devolved roles and responsibilities

  • Has developed a club infrastructure to sustain the club for the future

  • Has increased the profile of the club to be a focal point of the local community

The second award was awarded to a club selected from all the county nominations in the South West using the above criteria.

So as you can see it was a huge honour to receive these awards and again it is a reflection of the hard work being done by everybody involved with the club.

The only downside was we couldn't get Sir Geoff Hurst to meet everybody and congratulate them in person, but he was kind enough to have a few photos with some of our Coaches (below, taken from the clubs Facebook page).

Heart felt thanks to everyone who has helped us so far, we look forward to writing the next chapter in our story together.
